Calendar - Today we learned our new days of the week song, said the date and dressed Charlie for the weather.

Independent Reading - As part of our daily 5 students will look at stories, do picture walks, and listen to others telling stories. Take a look:

Shared Reading - today I read the class David Learns School Rules  afterwards we discussed our school rules and I wrote them on chart paper. Each student came up and dipped their finger in fingerpaint and pressed their finger to the paper to sign they will follow the rules at school.

Journals - As part of our daily 5 students will write in their journals daily. At the start of the year students will trace a journal slip and starting in January students will be expected to copy the sentence from the board.

Language - today we learned to recognize our names, and then we decorated the first letter of our name

Math - today we practised sorting objects by colour and their identity take a look:

Music - today we learned songs about: counting to 100, the planets, months of the year, classroom rules, outside/inside voices, phonics

UOI - today we played get to know you games as part of learning about ourselves and others

Centres - Today we used play centres to learn about ourselves and others with things such as: house, playdough, Mr. Potato Head, blocks, and puzzles.
