Calendar - Today we learned our new days of the week song, said the date and dressed Charlie for the weather.

Independent Reading - As part of our daily 5 students will look at stories, do picture walks, and listen to others telling stories. Take a look:

Shared Reading - today I read the class William won't you wash your hands. We talked about the importance of washing our hands!

Journals - As part of our daily 5 students will write in their journals daily. At the start of the year students will trace a journal slip and starting in January students will be expected to copy the sentence from the board.
Some students who are a bit advanced have started copying sentences already.

Today's topic was our Favourite colour

Gym -  See gym blog

Language - today we worked on name recognition with fun activities such as: gluing cotton onto our names or bingo dabbing our names

Math - Today we worked on number recognition for 1-5 and one to one correspondence. Some students attempted writing numbers on the board

Then students were given snap cubes and asked to construct a tower with a certain number. Like in our below pictures we represented the number 5

Music - today we learned songs about: counting to 100, the planets, months of the year, classroom rules, outside/inside voices, phonics

Today we ended our day with a big house game of musical chairs in the gym!!!
