Day 7 - Happy Birthday Selena!!!

Calendar - Today we learned our new days of the week song, said the date and dressed Charlie for the weather.

Independent Reading - As part of our daily 5 students will look at stories, do picture walks, and listen to others telling stories.

Story - Today we read the story Suppose you meet a Dinosaur. A little girl is shopping in a grocery store when—surprise!—she meets a dinosaur. Don't worry. The dinosaur is very friendly. She's polite, too. In this funny story, told in lilting read-aloud rhyme, the girl has numerous opportunities to be helpful to the clumsy shopping dino and demonstrate when to say "thank you," "excuse me," "I'm sorry," "You're welcome," and other niceties of life.

 

Journal - 

Today we continued to work on our sight word of the week ARE. We learned a poem about the word ARE. In our journals we then traced a line from the poem Colours are cool. (Some of us wrote it ourselves) Once we were done we drew and coloured a rainbow. Take a look:

Language -   

Today we continued to work on the letter Ii, we practised our song about Inky the mouse and the sound letter Ii makes, and writing it in our workbooks! We made a list of words we know that start with the letter Ii. 

Math - 

Today we learned about the numbers 3 and 4. We learned how to write them on our own, how to count them what numbers come before and after them and how to represent them with items and tallies 

Music - today we learned songs about: counting to 100, the planets, months of the year, classroom rules, outside/inside voices, phonics

UOI -

Today we learned about team work and our physical features. In teams we drew chalk outlines of ourselves then decorate them. 

UOI Centres-

House, dress up, playdough, puzzles, Mr. Potato head, blocks. Working on sharing, manners, fine motor skills, imaginative play, problem solving and working together
