Important Dates
May 27 - Track and Field Day - gym uniform to be worn
June 3rd – Arts night
June 4th – School Spelling bee (Justin, Arya, Marcus)
Parents you are all invited on June 10th @ 2:00-330pm to come and watch the JK-Gr. 2 GRADUATION!!!!! Each student will walk across the stage and receive a certificate of completion for their grade. At this time three awards will also be handed out (per grade) for Language, Math, and UOI.
(THIS IS ALSO CASUAL DAY; STUDENTS CAN COME TO SCHOOL DRESSED IN THEIR "GRAD" OUTFITS!)
For students in Gr.3-8 their Graduation starts at 5pm, everyone is welcome to attend even if they do not have a child in this grade range.

Independent Reading - As part of our daily 5 students will look at stories, do picture walks, partner read and listen to others telling stories:
Journal -
Today we began to review our knowledge on shapes. We talked about what a diamond is and what things we see around us that are shaped like it. We then wrote in our journals this is a diamond. (Some of us traced it) Once we were done we drew a picture to match the sentence. Take a look:

Today we learned the letter Ll, we practised our song about it and the sound letter Ll makes, and writing it ourselves
Math -
Today we reviewed how the counting sequence is always the same. We reviewed our knowledge of numbers 1-10. By gluing numbered strips of paper in their counting sequence order to make a picture. Take a look:
UOI - Today we joined with Ms. Bannon's class to talk about the holiday Diwali, a student from the grade 6 classroom came to our room to explain to us what Diwali is and why and how it is celebrated. We then made Rangoli with coloured rice:
UOI Centres-
House, dress up, playdough, puzzles, Mr. Potato head, blocks. Working on sharing, manners, fine motor skills, imaginative play, problem solving and working together. Mrs.Smith bought us new dress up items:
