Important Dates

May 27 - Track and Field Day - gym uniform to be worn

June 3rd – Arts night

June 4th – School Spelling bee (Justin, Arya, Marcus)

Parents you are all invited on June 10th @ 2:00-330pm to come and watch the JK-Gr. 2 GRADUATION!!!!! Each student will walk across the stage and receive a certificate of completion for their grade. At this time three awards will also be handed out (per grade) for Language, Math, and UOI.

(THIS IS ALSO CASUAL DAY; STUDENTS CAN COME TO SCHOOL DRESSED IN THEIR "GRAD" OUTFITS!)
For students in Gr.3-8 their Graduation starts at 5pm, everyone is welcome to attend even if they do not have a child in this grade range.

Hello parents,

With the change in weather here is an update on St. Jude's procedures!

Please send snow pants to school, these can be kept in their cubbies until Friday if you would like please write a note to let me know.
An extra pair of pants and socks kept in their backpack would help incase it is a snowy/wet day.

Language 
Today we learned the letter Ss, we practised our song about it and the sound letter Ss makes, then we wrote the letter on our own. We had lots of backwards S today so we will be working on this again tomorrow!

Math -Today we matched real life objects to 3D shapes:






Music - today we learned songs about: counting to 100, the planets, months of the year, classroom rules, outside/inside voices, phonics and sight words. 

UOI -   
Today we read the story: 

we then talked about how they celebrate Christmas in Sweden, Tomte: 
is a mythological creature from Scandinavian folkloretypically associated with the winter solstice and the Christmas season. It is generally no taller than three feet, has a long white beard and wears colorful clothes.[1] It is known as a gift bearer[2] and is considered the Swedish and Norwegian version of Santa Claus

We then made our own Tomte:




UOI Centres-
House, dress up, sensory bin, puzzles, Mr. Potato head, art easel (chalk, whiteboard markers, painting) and cut and paste. Working on sharing, manners, fine and gross motor skills, imaginative play, problem solving and working together.
