Day 51
Hello parents,
With the change in weather here is an update on St. Jude's procedures!
If the weather becomes -10 or colder including the wind chill students are kept inside due to the cold. If it is warmer then this they will be sent outside. Please send snow pants to school, these can be kept in their cubbies until Friday if you would like please write a note to let me know.
An extra pair of pants and socks kept in their backpack would help incase it is a snowy/wet day.
TREE DECORATING CEREMONY TRIP TO CENTRE SQUARE *
~ WEDNESDAY, NOV. 26th, 2014 ~
(permission form will been sent home tomorrow - no cost for the trip!)
After Care invoices and lunch order forms are due Friday.
Book orders due by end of next week in order to have them in before Christmas break.
Story -
Math -Today we reviewed our counting skills and one to one correspondence
Music - today we learned songs about: counting to 100, the planets, months of the year, classroom rules, outside/inside voices, phonics and sight words.
Drama, Integrated Arts: www.mrmonaghan2015.blogspot.ca - Mr. Monaghan came with the grade 7-10 at the end of the day for a surprise visit. We all practiced our song for the christmas concert together. It was a very exciting time for us, and I apologise for the fact that students will be constantly singing jingle bells to you!

Calendar - Today we learned our days of the week song, said the date and dressed Charlie for the weather.
Independent Reading -As part of our daily 5 students will look at stories, do picture walks, partner read and listen to others telling stories.
Journal -
Students were given a template of children playing in snow. The template had various blank lines where students were required to I like to play in __________. They then were required to sound out and write the word snow on their own.

Language
Today we learned the letter Ss, we practised our song about it and the sound letter Ss makes, then we wrote the letter on our own. We had lots of backwards S today so we will be working on this again tomorrow!
