Starting today SJA will be selling poppies to support our local veterans. Please kindly send in a donation of any denomination so that your child can wear a child friendly poppy for our Friday assembly.

Calendar - Today we learned our  days of the week song, said the date and dressed Charlie for the weather. 

Independent Reading -As part of our daily 5 students will look at stories, do picture walks, partner read and listen to others telling stories.

Journal -
Today we wrote a line out of our poem entitled "Went." Students were instructed to copy (some trace) the sentence I went on an ______________. Students then had to write the word elephant on their own. As a class we sounded out and wrote it. Take a look:

Today we learned the letter Bb, we practised our song about it and the sound letter Bb makes, and writing it ourselves:

Math -

Today we continued our new math unit on 3D shapes. We learned about a cylinder and where we see it in the world around us. We continued our 3D shape book.

Music - today we learned songs about: counting to 100, the planets, months of the year, classroom rules, outside/inside voices, phonics and sight words.

When students heard the lines Clang Clang rattle bing bang going to make my noise all day, the had to shake their shakers and sing along.

House, dress up, sensory bin, puzzles, Mr. Potato head, art easel (chalk, whiteboard markers, painting) and cut and paste. Working on sharing, manners, fine and gross motor skills, imaginative play, problem solving and working together.
