Important Dates

May 27 - Track and Field Day - gym uniform to be worn

June 3rd – Arts night

June 4th – School Spelling bee (Justin, Arya, Marcus)

Parents you are all invited on June 10th @ 2:00-330pm to come and watch the JK-Gr. 2 GRADUATION!!!!! Each student will walk across the stage and receive a certificate of completion for their grade. At this time three awards will also be handed out (per grade) for Language, Math, and UOI.

(THIS IS ALSO CASUAL DAY; STUDENTS CAN COME TO SCHOOL DRESSED IN THEIR "GRAD" OUTFITS!)
For students in Gr.3-8 their Graduation starts at 5pm, everyone is welcome to attend even if they do not have a child in this grade range.

Journal -
Today we wrote a line out of our poem entitled "Went." Students were instructed to copy (some trace) the sentence I went on the ______________. Students then had to write the word bus on their own. As a class we sounded out and wrote it. Take a look:

Language -   
Today we learned the letter Bb, we practised our song about it and the sound letter Bb makes, and then made a craft: B is for butterfly 


Math -
Today we began our new math unit on 3D shapes. We learned about a sphere and where we see it in the world around us. We began our 3D shape book.

Music - today we learned songs about: counting to 100, the planets, months of the year, classroom rules, outside/inside voices, phonics.

UOI -   
Today we began our new UOI titled: Little Artists. We are learning how art can convey and portray our emotions. Today we talked about different colours like orange and red and how we felt they were warm like the sun and we said that made us feel happy. We talked about blue and how it was a sad colour and that black could be a scary colour.  Students were then given a piece of paper with two googly eyes glued on. They were instructed to create whatever they felt went with those eyes take a look:





UOI Centres-
House, dress up, playdough, puzzles, Mr. Potato head, blocks. Working on sharing, manners, fine motor skills, imaginative play, problem solving and working together.
