Calendar - Today we learned our  days of the week song, said the date and dressed Charlie for the weather. 

Daily 5 -As part of our daily 5 students will look at stories, do picture walks, independent read, partner read, and listen to others telling stories, and practise writing words:

Today students participated in partner reading, students took turn completing picture walks and telling the story in their own words. 

Students also participated in independent reading. This helps students to build confidence in their reading through picture cues, learning parts of a book and proper book etiquette. 

Students also participated in listening to reading. Justin read us the journal he made on his trip to Japan and Thailand: 

students were instructed to listen to the story, re -tell the story as a class, and pick their favourite part. 

Journal- 

As part of our Daily 5 students will practice working on writing (through copying sentences in their journals) or word work (practicing sounding out words, cutting and pasting words into proper sequence to build words.). We also practised reading the sentences and learning the sight words:

Language 

Today we practised sounding out and constructing three letter words with the "at" sound in them:

Today we also learned the letter Gg! We learned how to write it, the sound it makes and some words that start with Gg:

Today we completed a worksheet on patterning with AB, AAB, ABB, ABC patterns:

UOI -   

We are wrapping up the end of our second UOI, this week students will be learning about primary colours and when we mix them what colour we get. Today we learned that if you mix yellow and blue paint you will have green paint! We then used our green paint to paint a granny smith apple:

UOI Centres-

House, dress up, sensory bin, puzzles, Mr. Potato head, art easel (chalk, whiteboard markers, painting) and cut and paste. Working on sharing, manners, fine and gross motor skills, imaginative play, problem solving and working together.
