Calendar - Today we learned our days of the week song, said the date and dressed Charlie for the weather.
Daily 5 -As part of our daily 5 students will look at stories, do picture walks, independent read, partner read, and listen to others telling stories, and practise writing words:
Today students participated in partner reading, students took turn completing picture walks and telling the story in their own words:
Students also participated in independent reading. This helps students to build confidence in their reading through picture cues, learning parts of a book and proper book etiquette.
Journal-
As part of our Daily 5 students will practice working on writing (through copying sentences in their journals) or word work (practicing sounding out words, cutting and pasting words into proper sequence to build words.)
Today for journal students were given pictures of a bat, cat, mat, hat, and rat. Together as a class we sounded out and wrote each word on the board next to the picture. Students then practiced writing the words themselves:
jk work:
PreK work:
Today we continued to learn the letter Dd! We practised how to write it, the sound it makes and some words that start with D.

Language
Today we practised building a sentence using an "at" word we learned today. Students had to build the words themselves by sounding out the letters:
Math -
Today we learned what an AB pattern is. We talked about how you needed two things to make an AB pattern. For example two colours
red, black, red, black, red, black
Red being A
Black being B
After giving examples from food, colours, characters, to animals we then coloured our own AB pattern on patterning strips.
UOI -
UOI Centres-
House, dress up, sensory bin, puzzles, Mr. Potato head, art easel (chalk, whiteboard markers, painting) and cut and paste. Working on sharing, manners, fine and gross motor skills, imaginative play, problem solving and working together.
