Calendar - Today we learned our  days of the week song, said the date and dressed Charlie for the weather. 

Daily 5 -As part of our daily 5 students will look at stories, do picture walks, independent read, partner read, and listen to others telling stories, and practise writing words:

Today students participated in partner reading, students took turn completing picture walks and telling the story in their own words. 

Students also participated in independent reading. This helps students to build confidence in their reading through picture cues, learning parts of a book and proper book etiquette. 

Students also participated in listening to reading. I read the story:

students were instructed to listen to the story, re -tell the story as a class, and pick their favourite part. 

Journal- 

As part of our Daily 5 students will practice working on writing (through copying sentences in their journals) or word work (practicing sounding out words, cutting and pasting words into proper sequence to build words.) 

Today for journal students completed a reading response page to the story I am Sharing. Students had to write the title of the story (Writing with words) and then draw a picture of their favourite part. They were then required to rank the book by like, some what like, or did not like.

Language 

Today we practised more "at" words. We sounded out and made the word CAT. Students cut and glued letters C,A,T in proper sequence. They then wrote the word on the line provided.

Today we also learned the letter Dd! We learned how to write it, the sound it makes and some words that start with D:

Math -

Today we completed a worksheet on tally marks. Students had to count the tally marks and cut out the number that represented the set of tally marks:

Music - Songs on friendship, sight words, phonics, patterning, manners, brain breaks

UOI -   

Today we completed our summative assessment for unit 2. Students were required to make a self portrait using clay:

UOI Centres-

House, dress up, sensory bin, puzzles, Mr. Potato head, art easel (chalk, whiteboard markers, painting) and cut and paste. Working on sharing, manners, fine and gross motor skills, imaginative play, problem solving and working together.
