Day 69 (Friday)

Dec. 16th – Bake sale, Christmas Concert afternoon showing 11:45 - Students to wear their concert clothes to school this day:

Danial, Arya, Bella, Anthony, Marcus are to be wearing brown tops and if possible pants, All other students are to be wearing green or red outfits (or something with a Christmas design. If you need to buy a shirt Children's Place has plain red and green tops!

Dec. 18 - Christmas pj day for the JKs (only =) ) We will have a party, drink hot coco, watch the Polar Express, make a craft and Mrs. Smith will give us our presents !!!! Lots of Fun Fun FUN!

Dec.18- Last day of school, Christmas vacation begins on the 19^th

Jan 7^th – return to school, 1^st day back!!

Calendar - Today we learned our  days of the week song, said the date and dressed Charlie for the weather. 

Independent Reading -As part of our daily 5 students will look at stories, do picture walks, independent read, partner read, and listen to others telling stories.

Reading Buddies:

As part of our daily 5 students must listen to reading. This helps them with learning to read, re telling stories, comprehension, learning parts of a book and proper book etiquette. 

Our grade five reading buddies came for a visit today! They helped us make a fun Christmas craft and then read a few stories with us helping to model proper reading strategies and etiquette:

Journal- 

As part of our Daily 5 students will practice working on writing (through copying sentences in their journals) or word work (practicing sounding out words, cutting and pasting words into proper sequence to build words.) Today students practiced their word work by cutting and pasting words into a proper sentence:

Gym - 

Today we went outside for some fresh air and fun in the sun and snow!

Language 

Students had to look at the pictures on the worksheet and bingo dauber the correct beginning sound to match with the picture:

For the rest of the afternoon students practiced the Christmas concert on the stage. Parents if you have time this weekend can you please take some time to practice with your child as we are a bit to slow for the song.  Please put song to 1 minute 50 seconds and practice from there in thank you!
