Important Dates
May 27 - Track and Field Day - gym uniform to be worn

Parents you are all invited on June 10th @ 2:00-330pm to come and watch the JK-Gr. 2 GRADUATION!!!!! Each student will walk across the stage and receive a certificate of completion for their grade. At this time three awards will also be handed out (per grade) for Language, Math, and UOI.
(THIS IS ALSO CASUAL DAY; STUDENTS CAN COME TO SCHOOL DRESSED IN THEIR "GRAD" OUTFITS!)
For students in Gr.3-8 their Graduation starts at 5pm, everyone is welcome to attend even if they do not have a child in this grade range.

Calendar - Today we learned our days of the week song, said the date and dressed Charlie for the weather.
Daily 5 -As part of our daily 5 students will look at stories, do picture walks, independent read, partner read, and listen to others telling stories, and practise writing words:
Today students participated in partner reading, students took turn completing picture walks and telling the story in their own words.

Journal-
As part of our Daily 5 students will practice working on writing (through copying sentences in their journals) or word work (practicing sounding out words, cutting and pasting words into proper sequence to build words.) Today we practised beginning and end sound recognition:

Language
Today we learned the letter Ww! We learned how to write the letter Ww in capital and lowercase form, as we all the sound it makes. We practised writing the letter Ww in capital and lowercase form and we circled pictures that began with the Ww sound:
We also made a list of words that begin with the W sound:
Math - Today we practised proper counting sequences for numbers 1-20. Students had to cut out numbers 1-20 randomly ordered and glue them in proper counting order
UOI-
Today we added work into our IB portfolio binders. We added work under the headings: best work, way I showed a learner profile, something I worked my hardest on, and something I need to improve on.
UOI Centres-
Students had to answer trivia questions in order to be able to pick their centre.
Car mats, airport, blocks, puzzles, Mr. Potato head, art easel (chalk, whiteboard markers, painting) and cut and paste. Working on sharing, manners, fine and gross motor skills, imaginative play, problem solving and working together.
