Calendar - Today we learned our  days of the week song, said the date and dressed Charlie for the weather. 

Daily 5 -As part of our daily 5 students will look at stories, do picture walks, independent read, partner read, and listen to others telling stories, and practise writing words:

Today students participated in partner reading, students took turn completing picture walks and telling the story in their own words.

Journal- 

As part of our Daily 5 students will practice working on writing (through copying sentences in their journals) or word work (practicing sounding out words, cutting and pasting words into proper sequence to build words.) 

Today students practised rhyming with three letter words that we have learned:

Language 

Today we learned the letter Jj! We learned how to write the letter Vv in capital and lowercase form, as we all the sound it makes. We practised writing the letter Vv in capital and lowercase form and we circled pictures that began with the v sound. 

Math - Today we practised those tricky teen numbers: 15 and 16 

Music - Songs on friendship, sight words, phonics, patterning, manners, brain breaks

UOI- 

Today we worked on a fun valentines day craft which helped us to practice our fine motor skills! We tore pieces of red and pink paper to glue them into a heart:

UOI Centres-

Students had to answer trivia questions in order to be able to pick their centre. 

Car mats, airport, blocks, puzzles, Mr. Potato head, art easel (chalk, whiteboard markers, painting) and cut and paste. Working on sharing, manners, fine and gross motor skills, imaginative play, problem solving and working together.

• Feb 12 - Valentines day party, dress in red, pink, and white for spirit day, Macbeth play at night put on by older grades: tickets sent home 
• Feb. 13 and 16 - No school 
• Feb. 17 - Pancake eating contest 
• Feb. 20 - Registration due in order to secure a spot in SK for next year, After School Care Fees due, Poem presentations in class  
• Feb 23- Lego Land Trip 
• Feb 24 - Pancake breakfast - Order Forms to be sent home tomorrow
• Feb 25 - Casual Day 
• Feb 26 - Oral Presentations for top 3 finalists
