Calendar - Today we learned our  days of the week song, said the date and dressed Charlie for the weather. 

Daily 5 -As part of our daily 5 students will look at stories, do picture walks, independent read, partner read, and listen to others telling stories, and practise writing words:

Today students participated in partner reading, students took turn completing picture walks and telling the story in their own words.

Students also participated in independent reading. This helps students to build confidence in their reading through picture cues, learning parts of a book and proper book etiquette.

Journal- 

As part of our Daily 5 students will practice working on writing (through copying sentences in their journals) or word work (practicing sounding out words, cutting and pasting words into proper sequence to build words.)

Language 

Today we made a book of "an" words. Students had to cut out and glue on pictures that have the "an" sounds in them. Students then needed to sound out and write the word by themselves. Once finished students cut out the book and pasted it together to make a book they will be bringing home to read to you:

Math - Today we practised our rote counting and number recognition for numbers 1-20:

Music - Songs on friendship, sight words, phonics, patterning, manners, brain breaks

UOI- 

We listened to a song about transportation, we learned that people and things travel on transportation on the land, in the air, and on the sea. We started our transportation fact book today:

UOI Centres-

Students had to answer trivia questions in order to be able to pick their centre. 

Car mats, airport, blocks, puzzles, Mr. Potato head, art easel (chalk, whiteboard markers, painting) and cut and paste. Working on sharing, manners, fine and gross motor skills, imaginative play, problem solving and working together.

  • Feb. 20 - Registration due in order to secure a spot in SK for next year, After School Care Fees due, Poem presentations in class  
  • Feb 23- Lego Land Trip 
  • Feb 24 - Pancake breakfast - Order Forms to be sent home tomorrow
  • Feb 25 - Casual Day 
  • Feb 26 - Oral Presentations for top 3 finalists
